Even Newer Horizons

After visiting Pluto, the New Horizons space probe is continuing to send back pictures and data via slow interplanetary “dialup.”

The next object that New Horizons will visit has now also been identified – it is 2014 MU69 in the Kuiper Belt (marked “PT1” in the image below). Arrival is anticipated on January 1, 2019.
