University of Michigan Solar Car Team (Aurum)

The University of Michigan has been in the solar car business since 1990. In the 2013 World Solar Challenge, a gust of wind sadly caused a crash as the “Maize and Blue” team were turning into the Coober Pedy control stop. The team didn’t give up, however, and after repairing the car were still able to attain 9th place in the Challenger class. They won the recent Abu Dhabi Solar Challenge, though in an older three-wheeled car (see video below). This year, they are entering the World Solar Challenge in their new car, Aurum, and they do indeed have a good chance of winning gold. Their digital gateway umicheng.in/solar25 will tell the story. Good luck, team 2!
